The Three Sisters of Glencoe are majestic mountain peaks in the Scottish Highlands. These three strikingly shaped summits — Beinn Fhada, Gearr Aonach and Aonach Dubh — are part of the Bidean nam Bian massif and dominate the western side of the Glencoe valley. With their dramatic appearance they attract hikers, photographers and nature lovers from around the world. Besides breathtaking views, they also offer a variety of hiking opportunities.

History

The valley of Glencoe, where the Three Sisters are located, is known not only for its natural beauty but also for its dark history. In 1692 the infamous massacre of the MacDonald clan took place here, when members of the clan were treacherously attacked by British soldiers who had earlier been offered shelter. This event left a deep mark on the area and is still remembered as a symbol of betrayal in Scotland's history.

Viewpoint

The viewpoint is by the road. There is also a small parking area.
