Valencia is an amazing city. Wherever you go in this city, history, nature, and a peaceful atmosphere blend together.

For a truly relaxing visit to Valencia, I recommend staying for at least 3 days so you can enjoy the city without rushing. I personally explored Valencia in 2 days, but I have to admit it was quite rushed. If I had the chance, I would definitely extend the stay to 3 or 4 days.

Must-see destinations include the historic city center and its squares, the Oceanographic Museum, and the Bioparc. Each of these attractions takes up an entire day on its own, so if you have enough time, I recommend setting aside at least 4 hours for each. You definitely won’t regret it, as these are experiences worth exploring in depth.

Unlike some other cities, such as Barcelona, it’s not strictly necessary to buy tickets online in advance in Valencia, which makes visiting easier. However, if you want to be sure you’ll get in, book tickets for specific attractions. The city also feels safe even in the evening.

For getting around Valencia, I recommend buying tickets for the local public transportation. Just be sure to check the zones for which you’re purchasing tickets.

Hemisfèric: visit the impressive IMAX and architectural gem

Oceanogràfic in Valencia is the largest aquarium in Europe, offering a unique view of the diversity of marine life from around the world.

It is located within the City of Arts and Sciences complex and is home to more than 500 species of animals, including sharks, dolphins, penguins, and turtles.

Oceanogràfic is divided into thematic areas representing different ecosystems, such as the Mediterranean Sea, the Arctic, and tropical waters.

Unique underwater tunnels allow you to observe marine predators up close. This fascinating experience is ideal for families with children as well as nature lovers.

You can buy tickets to the Oceanographic Museum on site. I recommend setting aside at least 4 hours for your visit. There are shows, for example with seals or dolphins. There are many sections you can visit and spend time in. If you plan your visit with children, it will likely take the whole day.

I recommend planning a visit and a small break here. It’s also a great place for an evening outing to a bar or restaurant.

Personally, I started spending evenings in a local café and also checked out the Irish pub "Saint Martins Urban Irish" to watch football.

Bioparc is divided into different thematic zones that mimic natural environments, such as the savanna, tropical rainforest, or Madagascar. Visitors can enjoy fascinating animals like elephants, giraffes, lions, or gorillas living in conditions as natural as possible.

The park is ideal for families with children as well as nature lovers who want to experience close contact with animals while learning more about nature conservation and biodiversity.

A visit to Bioparc takes at least 4 hours. If you plan to visit with children, expect to spend the whole day there.

Inside the Bioparc, there are stalls with a wide selection of refreshments at fairly good prices.

I also recommend checking the schedule and not missing the show in the main pavilion. It’s an unforgettable experience, where you sit in a circle and different species of birds fly around you or animals walk by! Arrive on time. It fills up quickly, and then they won’t let you in.

Plaza del Ayuntamiento: iconic square and cultural center of the city

Plaza del Ayuntamiento is the central square in Valencia, one of the most important and lively places in the city. It is located very close to the historic center and is surrounded by impressive buildings, including the city hall (Ayuntamiento), the post office building, and several hotels and cafés.
